Packing

Proper packing is the most important step in safely transporting your belongings.

Wetzel and Sons provides complete packing and unpacking services. We will come to your home and pack everything from your chandeliers to your toothbrush. The charges for packing are determined by the amount of hours worked. Our professional packers can complete your packing quickly and efficiently, usually in a day or less due to their training and experience. This allows your home to stay attractive and useful up to the day you move.

But, if you decide to do some or even all of your packing, the following packing guide will be of help.

Please keep in mind when you are making your decision to do the packing, that all fragile, small and loose articles must be packed for moving. Obviously, not everything will fit in a box. As a rule, furniture and major appliances will be wrapped and padded by Wetzel and Sons as part of our standard service. And lightweight, non-fragile items such as clothing can be left in dresser drawers. To ensure adequate protection, anything that is loose and/or breakable should be wrapped and packed in sturdy cartons.

It is recommended that you leave your most fragile or awkward things to our professionals. We have the experience, materials and techniques to properly protect these articles. Items that require professional disassembly and/or crating such as large glass table tops, or pool table slate, for example, should always be handled by Wetzel and Sons. We offer many different styles of crates and packing methods for paintings, sculptures, chandeliers, antiques and custom furniture.
